No one wanted them, the
Stack of unread books, so I took them,
Added them to my TBR
Tower. It took a year to
Open one, and when I did, I found my
Grandfather.
And I think, if my legacy is a stack of
Unread books,
I will rest
Easy.

I like the ending to this poem and the nostalgia you evoke with just the phrase, "I found my Grandfather." Nicely done!

Thank you! I think my favorite thing about poetry is the ability to convey intense emotion in a short space. It's a skill I'm still developing, but I'm content with the way this one turned out. :)

I liked this. There's a sense here that the books we're drawn to say something about who we are. Even if we didn't manage to read them, we wanted to-- intended to. That is perhaps not a bad way to be known.
